I thrive at the intersection of ideas as a researcher, writer/editor, and project manager.
Currently, I collaborate on several digital platforms. I am a research scientist/manager for the American Communities Project based at Michigan State University, where I study and elevate trend research. I am also a co-founder and editor of two publications: The Well, a nutrition and wellness newsletter on Substack; and Well-Schooled, the site for educator storytelling. I am a Certified Brand Strategist and Certified Platform Strategist via Section4.
I am the author of two novels, The Moral Tango and The Style Whisperer.
Previously, I held writing and editing roles at The Christian Science Monitor, ABC News, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and Campaigns & Elections magazine.
At NAIS, I launched and oversaw the organization’s thought-leadership blog, Independent Ideas. I wrote much about creativity, mindfulness, sustainability, and diversity. At the Monitor, I was a national news editor and lead editor of the community journalism project, Patchwork Nation, examining political, economic, and cultural trends in the US.
How do I approach my work?
Always with an eye toward learning, refining, and expanding. I sum it up as drawing out (aka educere, a Latin root of education). Throughout my career, I have enjoyed collaborating to develop ideas, sharpen one’s unique voice, and amplify impactful work.
I look forward to helping you craft and elevate yours.
